In this article the procedures and principles of materials development are discussed using
several actual ideas. Moreover, the paper presents different types of materials which can
be used in teaching English as a foreign language. It also provides the key features which
should be taken into account when developing optimal and suitable materials for EFL
classes. Furthermore, the article evaluates significant advantages and disadvantages of
types of materials developed regarding its usage and level.
