The article deals with euphemisms in the speech of politicians and diplomats in the English language. The aim of the current article is to identify the functions of euphemisms in the political and diplomatic discourse of the English media. The relevance of this study is due to the insufficient study of the functions of euphemisms in political and diplomatic discourse (on the example of the English language). The author of the article considers political euphemisms as words and expressions used in the language of politics instead of undesirable words and expressions in order to hide, soften or distort the meaning of the events and phenomena covered.
