Social and Spiritual Stability: Historical and Contemporary Approaches

Abstract

This article examines the conceptual content, historical foundations, and contemporary interpretations of social and spiritual stability. The study argues that stability should not be reduced to economic, political, or institutional indicators, but should also be considered in relation to the spiritual and psychological condition of individuals, social cohesion, value orientations, and the relationship between individuals and society. Particular attention is devoted to the concept of “Ko‘ngil barqarorligi”, proposed in this study as an individual-spiritual component of social and spiritual stability. The concept refers to a condition in which an individual perceives a degree of harmony between personal aspirations, socio-cultural values, prevailing social conditions, and the broader development of society. The article also analyzes the philosophical views of Abu Nasr al-Farabi and Husayn Waiz Kashifi concerning justice, morality, human perfection, social balance, and the conditions of a stable society. On the basis of historical-philosophical and conceptual analysis, a three-level model of social and spiritual stability is proposed, comprising institutional, social, and personal-spiritual dimensions. The study further considers the contemporary role of culture, arts, education, and cultural institutions in strengthening social cohesion and value-based social resilience. The findings suggest that social and spiritual stability emerges from the interaction of institutional effectiveness, social justice, human dignity, cultural values, and the individual’s sense of belonging and participation in social development.
