PERFORMANCE OF GREEN MAIZE AND SOIL NUTRIENT CHANGES WITH FORTIFIED COW DUNG: A STUDY ON SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PRACTICES
O.T. Makinde , Farming Systems Research and Extension Programme, Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ibadan, Nigeria.Abstract
This article presents a study on the performance of green maize crops and soil nutrient changes resulting from the application of fortified cow dung as an organic fertilizer. The aim of this research is to explore sustainable agriculture practices by evaluating the effectiveness of cow dung fortified with additional nutrients on crop growth and soil fertility. The experimental methodology includes the application of fortified cow dung to green maize fields, monitoring crop performance, and analyzing changes in soil nutrient levels. The findings indicate that the use of fortified cow dung as an organic fertilizer positively influences the growth and yield of green maize, while improving soil nutrient content and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
