India is known for its rich biodiversity, and tropical fruits play a significant role in this diverse ecosystem. This study aims to explore the biodiversity of tropical fruits in India and highlight the importance of their conservation. A comprehensive survey of tropical fruit species and their distribution across various regions of India was conducted. The study focuses on the unique characteristics, nutritional value, and economic significance of these fruits. Additionally, the threats and challenges to the conservation of tropical fruit biodiversity in India are identified, including habitat loss, climate change, and unsustainable harvesting practices. Strategies and initiatives for the conservation and sustainable management of tropical fruit species are discussed. The findings underscore the need for collaborative efforts involving government agencies, local communities, and conservation organizations to protect and preserve the rich biodiversity of tropical fruits in India.

This study investigates the phenotypic variability in horticultural and fruit quality attributes of tomatoes grown in plastic houses. Plastic house cultivation has become increasingly popular due to its ability to provide controlled environments for optimal crop growth. However, the extent of phenotypic variation in tomato plants and their resulting fruit quality attributes within such systems remains unclear. In this research, a comprehensive analysis of various horticultural parameters, including plant height, leaf area, fruit size, color, firmness, and sugar content, was conducted on a diverse population of plastic house grown tomatoes. The results revealed significant variations in these attributes, highlighting the potential for selecting and breeding tomato cultivars that exhibit desirable traits for plastic house production. This study contributes to our understanding of the phenotypic plasticity in tomato plants and provides valuable insights for tomato growers and breeders aiming to improve horticultural and fruit quality attributes in plastic house environments.

The successful cultivation and production of high-quality Dendrobium cv. Singapore White orchids rely on proper nutrient management. Inorganic nutrients play a vital role in the growth, flowering, and overall quality of these orchids. This study aims to investigate the influence of inorganic nutrients on the growth, flowering, and quality of Dendrobium cv. Singapore White. A series of experiments were conducted to determine the optimal nutrient composition and concentration for promoting growth, enhancing flowering, and improving the quality attributes of the orchids. Different inorganic nutrient formulations and application methods were tested to assess their effects on plant performance. Parameters such as plant height, leaf development, flower number, flower size, color intensity, fragrance, and post-harvest shelf life were evaluated to gauge the impact of the nutrient treatments. The findings provide valuable insights into the specific nutrient requirements and their influence on the growth, flowering, and quality attributes of Dendrobium cv. Singapore White. These results can guide orchid growers in implementing effective nutrient management strategies to maximize the production of high-quality orchids.

Edible macrofungi, also known as mushrooms, are valued for their nutritional and medicinal properties. The amino acid profile of these macrofungal species is an essential aspect of their nutritional quality. This study aimed to investigate the amino acid composition of eighteen isolates from different edible macrofungal species. The analysis involved the identification and quantification of various amino acids using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The results revealed variations in the amino acid profiles among the different macrofungal species, indicating their unique nutritional compositions. The essential amino acids, which are crucial for human health, were also determined. The findings provide valuable insights into the amino acid composition of these edible macrofungal species, contributing to a better understanding of their nutritional value and potential applications in food and pharmaceutical industries.
