Open Access Policy

The American Journal of Applied Sciences (TAJAS)
ISSN: 2689-0992

The American Journal of Applied Sciences provides immediate open access to all published articles. Research is freely available online from the date of publication, without subscription fees, mandatory reader registration, or an embargo period.

The journal believes that unrestricted access to scientific knowledge supports research, education, collaboration, and the practical application of discoveries.

Free Access and Downloading

Readers may freely read, download, save, print, search, and link to the full text of published articles. No payment is required to access journal content.

Sharing and reuse are permitted under the Creative Commons license attached to each article.

Creative Commons License

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), unless otherwise stated on the article.

This license allows users to:

  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt: Translate, modify, and build upon the material.

  • Reuse: Use the material for educational, research, and commercial purposes.

Users must credit the original authors and publication, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes have been made. Reuse must not imply endorsement by the authors or the journal.

Users may not impose additional legal restrictions or technological measures that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

License details: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License

Authors Retain Copyright

Authors retain copyright in their published work. They grant TAJAS a non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, and archive the article and identify itself as the original publisher.

Authors may share their articles with colleagues, use them in teaching and presentations, include them in theses or dissertations, and deposit them in repositories. Reuse should acknowledge the original publication and include the DOI or permanent article link where available.

Benefits of Open Access

Open access supports:

  • Worldwide accessibility: Research is available to readers regardless of institutional subscription access.

  • Greater visibility: Articles can reach researchers, educators, professionals, policymakers, and the public.

  • Research discovery and reuse: Findings are easier to locate, share, evaluate, and build upon.

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: Knowledge can circulate across scientific and professional fields.

  • Educational opportunities: Teachers and students can use and adapt research with appropriate attribution.

  • Practical applications: Scientific findings are accessible to professionals working in industry, technology, and environmental management.

Open access can create opportunities for wider readership and citation, although it does not guarantee citation counts or research impact.

Repository Deposit and Sharing

Authors may deposit the final published version of their article in institutional or subject repositories without an embargo. They may also share it through personal websites and scholarly platforms.

Shared copies should include the complete citation, a link to the journal’s version of record, and the applicable Creative Commons license.

Authors should check any additional requirements imposed by their institution or research funder.

Publication Charges

Access to published content is free for readers. Any applicable Article Processing Charge, payment conditions, and available waivers or discounts are disclosed separately on the journal’s Article Processing Charges page.

Publication charges do not guarantee acceptance or influence editorial decisions. Manuscripts are assessed on their scientific quality, relevance, and ethical integrity.

Third-Party Material

Figures, photographs, tables, or other material credited to a separate rights holder may have different reuse conditions. Such material is covered by the article’s Creative Commons license only where the relevant credit line or permission permits it.

Users must obtain permission from the rights holder when their intended reuse is not otherwise authorized.

Preservation and the Scholarly Record

TAJAS supports the long-term accessibility of published research through its archiving arrangements and author repository deposit. Further information is available in the journal’s Archiving Policy.

Readers should consult the journal’s version of record for any corrections, updates, or retraction notices and acknowledge these when sharing affected articles.
