Open Access Policy
The American Journal of Engineering and Technology (TAJET)
ISSN: 2689-0984
The American Journal of Engineering and Technology provides immediate open access to all published articles. Research is freely available online from the date of publication, without subscription fees, mandatory reader registration, or an embargo period.
The journal believes that free access to scientific and technical knowledge supports education, collaboration, technological innovation, and the practical application of research.
Free Access and Downloading
Readers may freely read, download, save, print, search, and link to the full text of published articles. No payment is required to access journal content.
Sharing, adaptation, and reuse are permitted under the Creative Commons license attached to each article.
Creative Commons License
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), unless otherwise stated on the article.
This license allows users to:
-
Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
-
Adapt: Translate, modify, and build upon the material.
-
Reuse: Use the material for educational, research, and commercial purposes.
Users must give appropriate credit to the original authors and publication, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes have been made. Reuse must not imply endorsement by the authors or the journal.
Users may not impose additional legal restrictions or technological measures that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.
License details: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License
Authors Retain Copyright
Authors retain copyright in their published work. They grant TAJET a non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, and archive the article and identify itself as the original publisher.
Authors may share their articles with colleagues, use them in teaching and presentations, incorporate them into theses or dissertations, and deposit them in repositories. Reuse should acknowledge the original publication and include the DOI or permanent article link where available.
Benefits of Open Access
Open access supports:
-
Worldwide accessibility: Research is available regardless of readers’ institutional subscription access.
-
Greater visibility: Articles can reach researchers, engineers, educators, students, industry professionals, and the public.
-
Scientific collaboration: Findings can circulate across engineering disciplines and research communities.
-
Educational use: Teachers and students can use and adapt published material with appropriate attribution.
-
Technological development: Research is accessible to professionals developing and evaluating engineering solutions.
-
Research discovery and reuse: Readers can more easily locate, assess, share, and build upon existing work.
Open access creates opportunities for wider readership and citation, although it does not guarantee citation counts or research impact.
Repository Deposit and Sharing
Authors may deposit the final published version of their article in institutional or subject repositories without an embargo. Articles may also be shared through personal websites and scholarly platforms.
Shared copies should include the complete citation, the applicable Creative Commons license, and a link to the journal’s version of record.
Authors should check any additional requirements imposed by their institution or research funder.
Publication Charges
Access to published content is free for readers. Any applicable Article Processing Charge, payment conditions, and available waivers or discounts are disclosed separately on the journal’s Article Processing Charges page.
Publication charges do not guarantee acceptance or influence editorial decisions. Manuscripts are assessed according to their scientific quality, relevance, and ethical integrity.
Third-Party Material and Associated Resources
Figures, photographs, tables, diagrams, and other material credited to a separate rights holder may have different reuse conditions. Such material is covered by the article’s Creative Commons license only where the relevant permissions allow it.
Datasets, software, and supplementary resources may carry separate licenses. Users should consult the conditions attached to each resource before reuse.
The article’s open-access license does not automatically grant patent, trademark, privacy, or other rights that may apply to its content.
Preservation and the Scholarly Record
TAJET supports the long-term accessibility of published research through its archiving arrangements and author repository deposit. Further information is available in the journal’s Archiving Policy.
Readers should consult the journal’s version of record for corrections, updates, or retraction notices and identify these when sharing affected articles.
